One of the world’s foremost mathematical collections at the Mathematical Institute of the Georg August University of Göttingen put Gömböc 1737 (carrying the year of foundation of the University) on permanent exhibit. The collection was used and enriched (among others) by Alfred Clebsh, David Hilbert, Felix Klein and Arthur Schoenflies and the latest item was added in 1930.
Gömböc 1737 is item #941 of the collection, on exhibit in showcase #23, next to the oldest pieces of the Collection: polyhedra built in 1780 by Abraham Gotthelf Kästner, (thesis advisor of Farkas Bolyai) based on instructions from Johannes Kepler.
