The University of California, founded in 1868, is a public university system in the state of California. Its flagship institution is the University of California at Berkeley, ranked consistently among the world’s top 10 universities. During its 150-year history, Berkeley had 22 Nobel-prize winning professors. As of October 2018, Berkeley alumni, faculty members and researchers include 107 Nobel laureates, 25 Turing Awards winners, and 14 Fields Medalists.
The Lawrence Hall of Science is the science museum of Berkeley, named after Nobel laureate Ernest Lawrence, inventor of the cyclotron.
At Lawrence Hall, visitors may admire the wonders of physics and technology.
During the year of celebration of the 150th anniversary of Berkeley’s foundation, Gömböc 1868 received a special showcase in the frame of this unique exhibition.
