As of now, Gömböc 1348, carrying the year of foundation of the Order of the Garter and the College of St George, will be on permanent display in the Vicar’s Hall at St George’s House, Windsor Castle. The showcase of the 180mm tall clear plexiglass Gömböc was manufactured from a special furniture, originally located in Buckingham Palace. The Vicar’s Hall hosted the first production of Shakespeare‘s ‘Merry Wives of Windsor‘, in the presence of the playwright and queen Elizabeth I.
The same room hosts another individual Gömböc piece from now on: Gömböc 0013 (height 90mm, mass 4 kilograms) has been manufactured from 99.9% pure, internationally certified silver.
The production of both individual Gömböc pieces has been sponsored by Mr Ottó Albrecht.
