The University of Regina (UR) is among the most significant centers for Indigenous studies in Canada. First Nations University (FNU) is also a federated college associated with the UR, and the Regina campus of FNU has been designed by Indigenous Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal.
Another campus highlight, the Dr. John Archer library (designed by Minoru Yamasaki, architect of the original World Trade Center in New York)
hosted the festivity on March 13th 2020 where Gömböc 1911 was presented to the audience.
Professor Douglas Farenick, dean of the Faculty of Science gave a speech in which
he briefly introduced the history of the Gömböc and explained the significance of individual Gömböc models. The final home of Gömböc 1911, (90mm tall, made of AlMgSi-alloy) will be the main office of the Faculty of Science.
The production of Gömböc 1911 has been supported by Mr Ottó Albrecht.
