Kagyu, the oldest lineage of Tibetian Buddhism has two spiritual leaders: the Karmapa and the Shamarpa. Members of the Hungarian Kamala buddhist community went in February 2008 on a pilgimage to the Far East and visited Kalimpong.
Here they had the privilege of being received by His Holiness Shamar Rinpoche, the XIV. Shamarpa at his private residence.
On this occasion they presented Gömböc 108 (carrying the number of volumes of the Kangyur, containing Buddha’s teachings as a serial number)
to His Holiness who kindly received this special gift, commented on it and displayed its special features related to balance and meditation
before assigning to its special place in his rich Collection.
